She-Devil Red’s Leaf
I was photographing a split in She Devil Red’s leaf
(The orange stripe on the leaf above)
When I noticed the odd colors on the display
So, I shined her up a bit
Usually, I delete photos that have odd color casts that I can’t remove
But, I started to play with these, and I kind of liked them
The last photo is the baby Elephant Ear sitting next to the other leaf
All of the others are the She-Devil Red leaf
The photos are unlike anything I’ve ever posted
But they were fun, so I decided to share them.

Ha-ha! I thought retro when I was trying to spiffy-up the first photo. She just hung on to the fifties like glue. You’re too funny! I wonder how old you have to be now to remember drive-in movies… Pretty ancient, I think! 🙂

I like these colours, George, they’re very vibrant. With landscapes especially, I’m coming to realise that colours do not always have to be true. True is the thing if I’m going after a faithful representation but, rather than that, these days I’m going after more what’s in my mind and/or what looks good. And my bottom line is – if it looks good then it is good – and that certainly applies to these experiments of your’s. I hope you’re well and fine , my dear. Adrian

Thanks, Adrian. The colors and tones on the media card were mostly pale versions of what you see. That’s what I enhanced for the most part. I did totally change a couple with filters. Sometimes, I get strange colors and effects from the light through the black screen on the porch. Glad you like them. I’m becoming more forgiving about accurate representation, myself. Freer to do whatever I want to do. Chuckle… 🙂

Thanks, Sylvia. I don’t usually attempt to do anything with the oddly colored or toned effects that I sometimes get from the light through the black screen on the porch, but these interested me since they were all pictures of a leaf. I was surprised so I played with them. 🙂

Thanks, Christine. No, I use Photoshop and the Color Efex pro editing programs. Actually, colors are present in all of our photos. We just don’t see them because the tones are so muted. Of course, I changed the tones on a couple and completely on the yellow one. Increasing saturation does a lot. Have a great time on your trip and post photos! 🙂

Good grief, Elisa. I missed this! Thank you so much for that. I had fun playing with the photos. Often, I get strange colors with the light through the black screen on the porch. I exaggerated the tones for most of them and changed the yellow one completely. I was unsure about posting such frivolity, but I decided, “What the heck”! 🙂

Thanks, Lemony. I don’t know why I thought of the round shapes. I’ve seen other folks use them, but I always think they don’t fit what I’m posting. For these colors, I thought they were okay. I can see what you mean by having them all together in lines. Hey, you didn’t say you wanted to “taste” these. Richard could “almost taste the colors”… Chuckle…
