  1. I’m just seeing this now – it is brilliant – the photos are quite beautiful, the sentiment lovely, but then you get to the notion of your children accepting you, and the orchid with the fly on it – just perfect! 🙂

    • Thank you, Elisa. Yes, I had a good day. The bug on the last photo is a “Love Bug”. Chuckle… That is NOT what Deano called them, however… Are your kids coming home for the summer?

    • Ah, Thank you, Joseph! By Mother’s Day, surely the sun was shining and the breezes warm in your frozen part of the planet! I fret about that damn weather up there. Chuckle… I think about the lawn furniture that you had to leave outside… Was that this year or last. I don’t recall, but I do recall the photos of huge stacks of snow on the arms of the chairs! 🙂 I really do appreciate Liz being so helpful about care for Lucy. She’s growing! She really is! I’m just delighted with that little girl. Must be the Mad Cow. I never thought I’d like a reptile of any kind. I ordered a habitat for her to get her out of that terrarium tank. Now, I worry about such stuff as gut-loading the roaches! YEP, I keep the baby roaches too. A guy in San Antonio sends them to me. I don’t breed roaches, yet… If I start raising roaches in my house, on purpose, somebody needs to intervene! As always, you’re so nice about my photos. Thanks again!

    • Well, Madhu, I skipped right over you when I was answering the comments. Shame on me. I love seeing you here when you visit. I’m always amazed that such a sophisticated world traveler would stop by an old woman’s hermit house in Backwoods, Texas. The idea makes me smile every time I see you. There is something about you that says “universal spirit” to me. I will never forget how astounded I was when I saw the table that you designed! And read the homeplace story. I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day too. Thank you for visiting me! 🙂

    • Bless you, RoSy. I wonder if “we” had a Mother’s Day feast with your family on Sunday! I’m coming over to see what I missed. Chuckle… Thanks, RoSy!

    • Thank you, Richard. The kids brought the orchid and my favorite fridge foods. Kelli is a marvelous cook and always prepares a couple of my favorite foods to keep in the fridge. She is the most thoughtful person I know. She could demand that I walk the few steps to her kitchen to feed myself, but she doesn’t. I appreciate that. Her mother, the Hermit, you know… 🙂

    • Ah, thank you, Sylvia! The kids brought it over along with my “Oakmeal” (A yogurt, fruit, raw oatmeal, Chia seeds dish that I absolutely love) and my favorite of Kelli’s concoctions, apple chicken salad. We call the oatmeal thing, “Oakmeal”, because that’s how Charlie pronounced it when he was a little fellow! 🙂
