I love mangos and so do the parrots!
A mango swirl
I buy bananas, and I never eat them until they spoil.
I grew up eating banana and mayonnaise sandwiches.
Sometimes, I would sneak into the kitchen, peel a banana, and stick the end of it in the Mayo jar!
Actually, that’s still my favorite way to eat a banana!

Oh you’re just naughty, George, sticking the banana in the mayo jar!!! >>> what a wonderful idea! But you know, being a Brit, mayo is not second nature to me – in the same way Patti’s not too sure about it. I find it bland – tho maybe our Brit versions are not up to your American ones, and I prefer what we call Salad Cream, which is sharper. I love these clear and colourful pictures of your’s, especially the mango swirl. And I feel very, very bad about you’re only having 6 months of blogging left, you know I do – I very much feel for you, my dear. I send this with love from me. Adrian π

I missed most of these replies. I finally logged out and back in to WP and started being able to see the comments again. Weird. Yes, I was something of a naughty child. I’d like to taste Salad Cream. My niece sent an English Christmas pudding, the steamed version along with Rum Butter. Wow. What a delicious treat! I ate ALL of it myself! Chuckle… I’m glad you like the photos. I don’t get outside much now because of the damnable heat! My doctor is working on the tremor. Trying different medications and increasing the doses. We are hopeful that something works! Actually, there is little treatment for familial tremor except deep brain stimulation (whatever that surgical procedure is called). That is supposed to work well for familial tremor, but I won’t do that, of course.

Somehow I missed this post until just now. I LOVE both bananas and mayo as well as mangos in any form!!! I keep thinking I’ll make homemade mango ice cream but so far no luck.

I guess we like bananas so much because mother liked them. I used to tell her that she ate bananas like a monkey! Homemade mango ice cream would be yummy if you can figure out how to do it. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend! π

Absolutely STUNNING images George, The beautiful composition, perfect background and sensual shapes held me captive for quite a time this morning. The feeling I had reminded me of the first time I saw some original photographs made by Edward Weston of peppers. And, I suspect if she were still around, Georgia O’keeffe would have been in awe of that mango swirl photo. What a pleasure it was to view these. Thank you.

I love the mango swirl! I wish I were more of a fruit eater. My mom liked bananas and peanut butter…which is actually a pretty good combo. Don’t think I could handle the nanner & mayo though. π

I do like mangoes a lot since I never ate one until we moved to Texas. For some odd reason. Don’t know how I missed them. Ours are imported here. I bet they’re really good off the tree! I had hardly even heard of mangoes till about 20 years ago. I think they just weren’t imported to the middle part of the country till recently.

I remember Duke’s – it’s the best mayo! I lived in NC for a few years. (Yes, Hellman’s ranks just behind Duke’s) Never heard of mayo and nana’s but love the image of you sneaking down for a dip. Please George, find a voice recognition system that you can use, or something (!) to stay with us. There would be a gaping hole if you weren’t here. There must be a way! The mango is so lush and perfect – but perfection has many guises.

Mango was a favourite of mine till I got false teeth and could no longer eat the flesh off the pit… cut pieces just don’t ave the same appeal for me…

I like mangoes too. And they’re in season now, here in Israel, so I eat them regularly. Never tried the bananas with mayonnaise. Think I’d prefer them with ice cream or whip cream, thank you.

Ah, Patti, you are so very kind to visit us, here. I may have six months left to do this number. My tremor is really bad now. I have to use both hands to fix on the “like” button even, so visiting is pretty difficult for me. I am working as hard as I can to get out the posts that I’ve had languishing for months. I bet you are having trouble with the mayo! I think you have to grow up eating mayo on strange stuff. Thank you, Patti!

Ha-ha! I think you have to have grown up eating mayo on bananas. I hate peanut butter on bananas, but my grandson likes it. Deano loved his grandmother’s pound cake so much that he put a slice on lettuce and tomato sandwiches! And on lots of other sandwiches too. Chuckle… And, yes, we ate BLT’s without the bacon. Very creative, George! Somehow I am reminded of some old masters paintings -the usual “still life with fruit” king. Bananas and mayo? I grew up having just mayo sandwiches. Keep up the good work!

Ah, thank you, Jo Nell! I still eat mayo sandwiches. Duke’s is the brand we had in NC. Deano used to order it by the case from the manufacturer. Finally, after he died, HEB started carrying it. I don’t know if they still do since I pick up the fruit and veggies at Walmart close to my house and never go to the grocery store.
