Last year, the poor little clematis managed to produce one tendril.
It made it all the way to the top of the trellis and produced one blossom.
During the winter, the plant turned brown.
I assumed it was dead in the pot until I saw a tiny green leaf at the top.
The rain came and she began to grow.
Finally.
I am reminded of the children’s story book, The little Engine that Could.

The first clematis blooms of the spring are the largest and the most beautiful, and you’ve captured their moment in all their glory. And yes, they are one tough plantā¦once they take root they’re there forever. Ha, you have a green thumb and a photographers finger! š Hope you are well, friend!

Beautiful shots, George. I love the idea (and I kind of believe) that Nature will always find a way – very old seeds unexpectedly producing plants etc…

Plants certainly are amazing creatures … most folks don’t fully appreciate them George. But, you and I both know that you’re not ‘most folks.’ I hope you are well. We have sunny skies here today. Joanna and I are just finishing up our Sunday-morning-coffee and we even indulged in donuts today! In a few minutes we’ll suit-up and makes the rounds of the pastures, checking for over-night-arrivals! I hope you have a wonderful day. D
